Идiотъ и третья мировая война
Вот тут в статте The New York Times, где наконец признается, что Саакашвили напал первым, упоминается представитель ОБСЕ в Северной Осетии по фамилии Грист:
Those claims have not been independently verified, and Georgia’s account was disputed by Ryan Grist, a former British Army captain who was the senior O.S.C.E. representative in Georgia when the war broke out. Mr. Grist said that he was in constant contact that night with all sides, with the office in Tskhinvali and with Wing Commander Stephen Young, the retired British military officer who leads the monitoring team.
“It was clear to me that the attack was completely indiscriminate and disproportionate to any, if indeed there had been any, provocation,” Mr. Grist said. “The attack was clearly, in my mind, an indiscriminate attack on the town, as a town.”

Ryan,
I am not a journalist, only a concerned US citizen of a Russian descent (thus I can read/write in Russian). Over the course of the conflict, Western media were giving (in my opinion) a very biased story of the events, often either full of complete fabrications or suggestive messages that were the opposite of the reality. The Russian conventional media was also performing poorly. The blogosphere, however — both Russian and Western — was substantially more objective and provided a ton of footage, images, and analysis of the conflict. You were mentioned in a few Russian blogs giving an interview on your experience in Tskhinvali. Unfortunately, no credible source was given and no the interview transcript was in Russian.
Here’s a post with your quotes on a fairly popular blog ran by a professional journalist Maxim Kononenko:

I can translate as close as possible what I have you being quoted of saying, if you are interested to see it (don’t know if you can read Russian).
In the mean time, what is your opinion on the numbers of the civilian deaths in Tskhinvali — is it plausible that over 1,000 civilians died in Georgian bombardment during the first hours of the conflict?
Hope all is well and you and your friends are safe.

Dear Constantine,
I am that person. I have not seen the blogs, but would be quite happy to speak with you on the matter. Do you represent any News Agency, or are you a freelance journalist?
Best Regards,
Ryan

Mr. Grist,
Some of the Russian blogs report an interview taken with one “Ryan Grist of OCSE” on his experience in Tskhinvali during the conflict. Are you that person and would you be interested to confirm your statements in English?
Thank you and hope you are well,
Constantine Blinkov
